“Watch” a film by Michael Dwyer and Robert Todd.
Watch is a portrait of Konrad Brzezinski, a master watchmaker, and his wife Ursula in Rye, NY.
Danny McBride is a comedic genius as evidenced by his LOFL hit on HBO “Eastbound and Down”. I was determined to get to a real theater and see “Your Highness” based on my enjoyment of the HBO show, plus the movie has Natalie Portman’s Oscar winning a$$, and James Franco who was good in Spiderman and really good in “Milk”.
Portman played here role without any sense of irony or absurdity which would have helped.
What a colossal letdown. The movie only tried to be funny for about 20% of the time. The other 80% was a straight-faced action ? adventure? fantasy? I’m not even sure what it was, except un-funny.
How does this happen, that someone so talented as a writer and actor can create something that is not even close to hitting the mark? I have no idea, except to guess that Hollywood or just plain bad judgement is to blame.
I eagerly await the third season of Eastbound and Down so that Danny McBride can redeem himself.
This movie is a puzzle with no answer.
The installation is composed of 16 eight-foot-tall aluminum “trees” containing audio speakers, lights and photo-electric sensors placed in a 4 x 4 grid. As people touch the “trees”, they trigger an ever-changing score of melodic and environmental sounds. Depending on the time of the day, participants may also trigger pre-programmed sound patterns—a flock of frogs, crickets crawling through the open space, or a swarm of fireflies passing overhead at night, essentially provocative “sound images.”
The outward environment is merely a reflection of the inner life condition.
